Main Areas of Interest

The brain stimulation and neuroplasticity group was founded in 1998 as the Laboratory for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. They investigate non-invasive, transcranial brain stimulation procedures such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), theta burst stimulation (TBS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in basic science studies and as a new type of therapy in psychiatric disorders, primarily affective disorders. A further focus lies on the study of longer-term neuroplastic changes during the development of mental illnesses and during treatment.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation ( rTMS )
